DevOps Engineer
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the automation and maintenance of Strangelove’s cloud infrastructure deployments.
Use Infrastructure-as-Code to minimize manual labor and overhead for scaled deployments
Integrate processes into CI/CD pipelines
Develop and deploy monitoring systems and alert pipelines
Serve in the on-call rotation and respond to incidents
Continually improve security and follow best practices to minimize attack surfaces across our cloud infrastructure
Improve the reliability, code-quality, and performance of our automation
Mentor other engineers and support the growth and health of the team
Requirements
A good mix of the following qualifications is desirable
3+ years of experience with Kubernetes
3+ years of experience deploying Infrastructure-as-Code; Terraform is preferred; Cloud Formation, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet experience are also helpful
Experience with continuous deployment of containerized microservices
Experience creating optimized build pipelines
Skilled with Grafana and Prometheus for visualization and alerts
Mastery of shell scripting (bash, zsh, csh, sh, etc.)
Robust understanding of network architecture, including firewalls, VPC peering, TLS, network security, and DNS
Familiarity with maintaining and scaling production databases
Working knowledge of computer science concepts, i.e. operating systems, networking, reliability
Proficient in spoken and written English
Nice to Have
Experience with Golang, Rust or other server-side languages
Experience with a scripting language like Javascript or Python
High-level understanding of how blockchains work (consensus, transactions, blocks, etc.)
Blockchain experience, for example, writing smart contracts with Solidity, CosmWasm, or building blockchains with Cosmos SDK
Experience authoring Docker files or other containerization solutions
Experience with modern software deployment practices
Experience with Hardware Security Modules or other signing mechanisms for cryptography
